It can also be used as a contact spray against a myriad of pests, as noted below -
- Treatment of clothing and gear - longevity six weeks or six launderings.
- Treatment of dogs - for use on healthy dogs 12 weeks of age or older
- Treatment of indoor space - controls cockroaches, silverfish, ants, spiders, and more.
- Treatment for Bedbugs - for mattresses, molding, and baseboards.
- Treatment of livestock and poultry.
JT Eaton Kills is a 0.5% permethrin-based liquid insecticide. It works just like any other 0.5% permethrin, and the label included is even more extensive. It's called a master label. The label includes two essential items for the outdoor person.
First, this product can be used on dogs, which makes it ideal for a hunting dog or any other dog - it will protect them from ticks and mosquitoes throughout the day and beyond.
Second, it is a clothing spray for treating your outdoor gear. If you are a gardener, fisherman, hunter, hiker, or love the outdoors, this product applied to your clothing will give you six weeks of protection or six washings.
If you go by the standard of using 6 ounces per outfit, this gallon will treat 21 sets of clothing. So, don't let the name bed bug title fool you; this is a top-quality permethrin product that helps with your protection in the outdoors and does so very economically!
Its range of uses includes premises spray, outdoor spray, livestock, poultry protection, and more. It will control cockroaches, water bugs, palmetto bugs, scorpions, ants, silverfish, spiders, crickets, carpet beetles, bed bugs, fleas, and ticks. It's effective during storage against clothes moths. As a space/area spray, it controls house flies, fruit flies, gnats, mosquitoes, skipper flies, wasps, hornets, bees, black flies, Angoumois grain moths, Mediterranean flour moths, Indian meal moths, and tobacco moths. Use beef and dairy cattle goats, sheep, hogs, and horses to protect from ticks; horn flies, face flies, house flies, mosquitoes, and gnats. Use on poultry . . . and many other applications stated on the label. That is the difference between a master label and a narrow label. As always, read and follow label instructions. Our rule is that if a label does not "specify a specific use," we don't recommend it.
NEVER USE A PERMETHRIN PRODUCT ON CATS, NEVER!
QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
I am going to spray outside but it might rain. How much dry time before rain?
I'm guessing that you are spraying grass of shrubs - my routine is that I pick a day with no rain forecast - I work in the morning before it becomes breezy (if it's too breezy I hold off the spraying because I don't want any excess overspray) typically around 8 to 9 am. It takes about 4 hours for the spray to dry and once dry it will not wash off for a few weeks - keep in mind that if you are doing the lawn make sure you cut it before spraying and if you do cut afterward don't pick up the clippings since they are treated and will continue the protection. Adjust the spray head so that it does not throw a fine mist, you're looking for large droplets and wet spray.
If I'm doing livestock I concentrate on the legs, middle of the back, neck, and around head and ears. I fashioned a blindfold of sorts that I place over the animal's eyes so that I can spray the forehead. The spray can last a few weeks on livestock. Once they get accustomed you will find most very cooperative since they love the relief from the flies and ticks.
I hope this is some help.
PS: This is an ideal (late May-early June) time for spraying for nymph deer ticks.
